Success is a weighted word. One with a unique meaning for everyone who rolls it on their tongue and spits it out whenever the opportunity presents itself. Success might come in the form of a fancy job at a big-name company with benefits and stock. It might mean becoming a mother and putting your children above all else, vowing to care for them and nurture them and love them with every bone in your body until they grow up to be exactly what they were meant to be, themselves. It might mean ownership: a home and a car and a dog and a boat, all in your name, all within reach. It could mean simply having the luxury to spend your days reading and gardening and hiking your dog in a beautiful climate, with no need for technology. Unplugged and alive.
To me, no pay check or company car could make up for the feeling of seeing my work acknowledged. It has been my dream to be published in a magazine since I was 16. Yesterday, when I came across the two-page spread, I squealed like a child. Success.

Congrats, Jenna. Too cool!
I’m so happy for you, lady! The article looks amazing! I think of success as something that comes from within– I hold myself to a very high standard and when I feel like I’m achieving (or on my way to achieving) those lofty goals I set for myself, I feel successful.
So so so proud of you! We’ll have to celebrate properly in June

This is amazing, Jenna! You deserve it more than anyone. Your blog is inspiring to so many people, whether they are writers, readers, paleolites, people who don’t speak proper english (like me- see “whether they are”), people in relationships, people who’ve lost a job, people who have a dream. Seriously, this is amazing! Can’t wait to see your work unfold as a published author! xoxo

i meant to comment on your post about feeling down a few days ago but didn’t get the chance to. i’ve been through a stage like that before & you will definitely get through it! you are a strong and inspirational woman and it will all work out. one of my favorite quotes is “Friend, you are a divine mingle-mangle of guts and stardust. So hang in there!” you’re going to do amazing things, just wait!
Thank you so much Kat! That’s an awesome quote can’t wait to use that as a mantra! Xo
